FREDERICTON (GNB) – Elections New Brunswick has mailed out almost 570,000 Voter Information Cards advising New Brunswickers about when and where they can vote in the Sept. 22 provincial general election.

“In order to ensure the fastest service possible, we encourage voters to bring their voter information cards with them,” said Michael Quinn, chief electoral officer. “Using hand-held scanners, polling staff can scan the unique barcode printed on each card to quickly find the voter's name on the voters list stored on the laptop computers set up at the polling stations."

Each house or apartment will receive an envelope which contains the Voter Information Cards for everyone living at that location. Eligible voters who do not receive a card, or who do not bring it to the polling station, will be directed to a special team at each polling station that will ensure the individual is on the voters list or who can add the person to the list if necessary.

Voters can also find voting information for their area online by visiting the Elections NB website. Using the Where Do I Vote (Provincial Elections) link, voters can quickly find the location of their local polling stations, the list of candidates running in their electoral district, as well as contact information for the returning office in their region.
