FREDERICTON (GNB) – Have you recently moved, or has your name changed? Elections NB wants to make sure your voter information is up-to-date and accurate for the local elections being held May 9.

More than 300,000 postcard-sized notices will arrive in mailboxes starting next week, asking New Brunswickers to contact the Elections NB call centre to update their voter information if there have been changes.

“This will help us to process voters more efficiently when they show up to cast their ballots during the May elections,” said Michael Quinn, New Brunswick’s municipal electoral officer.

In addition to the mail-out, Elections NB uses driver’s licence information provided by individuals visiting Service New Brunswick centres as well as information collected by Vital Statistics and Elections Canada to keep its voter list current.

About 570,000 New Brunswickers are eligible to vote May 9 to elect mayors, councillors, district education councillors and regional health authority board members.

Individuals who need to update or verify their voter information can call 1-888-858-VOTE (8683).
