FREDERICTON (GNB) – Advance polling for the Sept. 24 general election will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15, and on Monday, Sept. 17. Polls are open both days from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

“We encourage electors to bring their Voter Information Cards with them when they come to vote in the advance polls, so that we can provide them with faster service,” said chief electoral officer for New Brunswick Kim Poffenroth.

Voters who did not receive a card can still vote in the advance polls and will be sent to a separate table to have their particular needs addressed. Information on the locations of advance and regular polling stations is available on the Elections New Brunswick website, or by calling 1-888-858-VOTE (8683).

Another option is to vote at any of the returning offices across the province, which are open 6 days a week, excluding Sundays. In addition, Elections New Brunswick can arrange, by appointment, to have a special ballot brought to the residence of a voter who is unable to leave their homes because of illness or incapacity. A ballot can also be provided to a person's caregiver.

“These various options provide flexibility to individuals to choose the opportunity to vote that is most convenient for them,” said Poffenroth.
