FREDERICTON (GNB) – Judicial recounts in three electoral districts have ended, confirming the results from election night.

In Memramcook-Tantramar, Green Party candidate Megan Mitton’s win by 11 votes over Liberal candidate Bernard LeBlanc was upheld in a recount that ended today in Moncton. The judicial recount for Oromocto-Lincoln-Fredericton also concluded today, with Progressive Conservative candidate Mary Wilson maintaining her 93-vote victory over Liberal candidate John Fife, who had applied for the recount.

On Thursday, the judicial recount for the electoral district of Saint John Harbour confirmed a 10-vote margin of victory for Liberal candidate Gerry Lowe over Progressive Conservative candidate Barry Ogden.

“Having the ballots from these three districts hand-counted by a judge, with no changes, confirms that you can count on the tabulation machines to do their job accurately,” said chief electoral officer Kim Poffenroth.
