FREDERICTON (GNB) - Residents of the provincial riding of Kent will begin receiving Voter Information Cards for the April 15 byelection in the mail beginning this week.

Nearly 9,000 cards are being sent out to eligible voters with the locations and times of advance and regular polls.

“If an elector does not receive a voter information card, this could mean that the individual is not on the voter's list or is not listed at his or her current address,” said Michael Quinn, chief electoral officer. “Individuals may have their names added to the voter's list or update their voter information by contacting the returning office in Kent. Those who are not on the voter's list may also be added at the polls.”

Quinn said that the voter information cards are not required to vote, but they will speed up the process if the voter brings it with them.

Voters looking for more information may call the Kent returning office, 1-888-326-9523 or 506- 955-6022; or TTY, 1-888-718-0544.  They may also visit the Elections NB website.
