The engagement process
The Shediac Bay Watershed Management Plan initiative was initiated in the Fall of 2019 through the implementation of a stakeholder engagement program and the formation of a Technical Working Group tasked with developing the plan. Engagement with First Nations has been on-going since the beginning of the project.
In October 2019, a technical workshop took place in the afternoon of October 17th, 2019. The workshop was followed by an open house in the evening. Both events took place at the Club Boishébert in Shediac.
In the second phase of the engagement process (August-October 2020), stakeholders and First Nations were invited to review and provide feedback on the What We Heard Public and First Nation Engagement Summary Report, the proposed Vision and Principles and proposed actions for the Shediac Bay Watershed Management Plan. An online virtual open house also took place during that period.
