Government of New Brunswick

New Brunswick provides data from its ambient air quality monitoring network to federal agencies in real time. This data is used to generate current and forecast “Air Quality Health Index” (AQHI) values. The AQHI summarizes air quality information into a single, easy to understand value on a 10 point scale, and provides advice and guidance on whether and how people should respond to ambient air quality.

Current and forecast values for New Brunswick communities are available through the federal AQHI website:

In addition, when events such as forest fires significantly impact air quality, or if such impacts are anticipated, the federal and provincial government jointly issue air quality alerts or advisories to the general public via news media.
